The Dutch really go all out for winter with December bringing a fairy-tale mix of twinkling lights and coloured baubles adorning trees and beautiful displays all across the city. The city boasts many wintry events and Christmas market stalls - which you can check out here - as well as an impressive tree in the heart of Dam Square (an excellent Instagram photo op!). And yes, we think this definitely makes Amsterdam one of the best places to visit during one of the most festive times of the year.
