After a life-changing solo trip and her very own 'Under the Tuscan Sun' moment, Kacie Rose made the official move to Florence from the USA in January 2021. Through a lens of positivity, she began sharing her travel tips for first time visitors to Italy and insights into her life as an American abroad. Kacie has built an online community of over 1.8 million travel enthusiasts who have joined with her on her journey from exploring Europe alone, to meeting her now fiancé, Dario, and most recently becoming a New York Times bestselling author with her book ‘You Deserve Good Gelato’.

 

On January 31st, Trtl had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Kacie on an insightful virtual event - Get Lost in Italy, part of our series of webinars for our Get Lost community. This special occasion allowed travel enthusiasts from around the globe to connect with Kacie Rose, who has captivated a massive audience with her unique insights and experiences that she’s gathered not just living in Italy, but also through hosting tours and guides through the country that she’s come to call ‘home’. 

 

 

During the event, attendees were treated to her expert recommendations on exploring Tuscany, from hidden gems to must-see landmarks. She shared invaluable travel tips, including how to venture off the beaten path in Puglia and Dolomites, understanding Italian menus, and how to make the most of your own Italian adventure. Kacie Rose’s firsthand experiences and vibrant storytelling provided a rich tapestry of information, making everybody feel like they were strolling through the sunwarmed streets of Italy alongside her. 

 

One of the highlights of the event was the interactive Q&A session, where participants had the chance to ask her their burning travel questions. She graciously shared her knowledge on topics ranging from navigating Italian transportation to finding the most authentic dining experiences in Florence, such as Dalla Lola and Antico Ristoro di Cambi. Her advice on the do's and don'ts of traveling in Italy was particularly appreciated, offering practical guidance on how to blend in with the locals and avoid common tourist pitfalls.

Following the success of our virtual event, we’re thrilled to announce that we have partnered with travel and lifestyle influencer Kacie Rose to bring you a special, limited edition of Trtl Pillow Cool. Launching on 5th of August at 7am PST/10am EST/3pm BST/4pm CST, the collaboration will be available online in the US, UK and Europe. 

 

 

 

The pillow’s design is directly inspired by her experiences of living in Italy and the colour palette of the country. She said “I wanted to create something that was very Italian summer-esque - something joyful, bright, and that gets you excited for all the memories you're about to make on your vacation”. As a self-confessed “non plane sleeper” until she stumbled across the Trtl travel pillow online and was immediately converted! To her friends, family and followers, Kacie Rose said “I've tried probably every single neck pillow and sleep hacks for plane rides there is. Over the years I've just had to come to terms with the fact that if I was planning on taking a long-haul flight, I was walking off the plane exhausted. Using the Trtl neck pillow was the first time I was able to actually get a few hours sleep on a plane and not waste the first days of my trip trying to recover”. 

 

Working with Kacie Rose on the design process for this project has been an extension of working with Kacie herself - fun, uplifting and hugely enjoyable for all involved. We started the process with five designs all inspired by her time in Italy, but once we had physical samples of the product in hand there was one stand out - the beautiful Amalfi lemons on an indescribably soft pink viscose fabric that will keep you cool while you sleep. 

 

 

The entire Trtl team cannot wait for the pillow to go live on August 5th. Her beautiful design has brought a new lease of life to one of our best-selling products and we have no doubt that it will be a cherished travel companion for the ones that will manage to get their hands on this limited-edition item. Her excitement and passion for travel and exploration has inspired many of her followers to chase their own dreams, and we hope that this pillow will continue to inspire them to seek adventure.
